Beat Connection — For The Record

Back in May, Seattle electro-pop outfit Beat Connection served up a particularly fiery edition of The Jam Jar, supplying grooves from Pat Lok, Snakehips, Leon Vynehall, and other notable heavyweights. This got us dancing, and for that we are thankful.

Now the quartet is back with their first single in quite some time, and have confirmed all our suspicions — they are in fact a contending force, flexing a dynamic brand of electronic magic that pierces through the very notion of a bad vibe, designed for those who seek carefree memories and beyond. For The Record is out on ANTI today, and marks a stage of maturity in the group’s sound that they’ve been building over the last three albums. Singer Tom Eddy’s vocals flow over live drum hits and a shimmering synth line, joined by an undulating bass sensation that 9 out of 10 doctors have verified will drop your hips to the ground. That, plus cowbell, and we’ve got yet another summertime anthem, and if these keep on coming we’re going to have to find something else to get excited about.

Stream the track below and keep an eye out for the group’s upcoming tour dates, which you certainly won’t want to miss. Needless to say we’ll be keeping close watch on these guys!
