Alongside the launch of our brand new site comes an inaugural feature to mark the occasion, and we couldn't be more stoked to have our good friends Lewis and Laurie of Just Kiddin on board for it. We've been big fans of the guys work since the start, and it's been brilliant to watch them grow from a promising upstart duo into the international phenoms they are are today. Possessing a keen handle on their craft and a style that bursts with feel good energy, it's no wonder the Kettering duo has seen such a swift rise.
We had the chance to catch up with the guys for a quick chat in the midst of their current US tour, and they were also kind enough to put together an amazing mix for us that's perfectly primed to soundtrack these warm summertime days ahead. We first caught on to you guys back in the Zuprize / Spritzer days. Things have really taken off for you since, especially in the past year or so — what are some highlights so far?
There's been so many! Touring the US for the third time now, signing our new single Fall For You to Columbia Records, hearing our music being played on the radio. And how can we forget - meeting one of our all-time favorite bloggers at a recent show in SF, Cameron (aka caveman sound).
Let’s talk about your summertime smash ‘Fall For You’. It’s fantastic, and Alex Metric just remixed it. That’s got to feel pretty incredible, how did it all come about?
Thanks, really pleased you like the new one. We just wanted to make something that oozed summertime vibes. We worked on a vocal we had that had an African style feel about it that kind of inspired the move. We also made the decision to use some more live elements in this one, so we ended up working with a choir and a 3 piece brass band to take it to the next level!
We've been a big fan of Alex Metric for a long time and when we found out he was down to remix us we were buzzed. Safe to say we fell for his remix on first listen!
You guys are currently back in North America for the second time this year, what’s it like playing over here compared to the UK / Europe?
The shows themselves aren't always that different. Our own stuff always goes down really well in America. People in the US are all so friendly with us - probably because they appreciate how far we've travelled. It's good to be playing music to people who share the same passions as we do.
One of those dates is Splash House in Palm Springs, an amazing festival to say the least. What did you think?
Splash house was amazing. If there was a festival tailor-made for our sound, I think it'd close to Splash House. We got to hang with some great people and made a lot of new friends too! Hopefully we'll be invited back next year.

The Summer season is just kicking off, any big plans ahead?
We'll be playing some more festivals here in the US: Electric Forest & Camp Bisco - these should be super fun. The music video for 'Fall for You' should be out soon. And we've also got an abundance of new music finish that we're itching to get out there. Exciting times ahead!
