There's nothing like a forgotten classic getting a rework years later, that's so well constructed it breathes a whole new life into the track. Today we're excited to be bringing you a collaborative remix of one such classic, Eamon's 2001 jam Fuck It, from NYC-based producers Brendan Fallis and Roofeeo. Fallis, an accomplished DJ who's worked with some of the world's biggest brands and also happens to be manager and DJ for Theopilus London, met Roofeeo — a known talent in his own right with his hands on many projects, most notably as drummer for TV on the Radio — at SXSW back in 2011, hit it off, and have been looking for something to work together on since.
They've done a unquestionably great job on this one, complimenting the original's R&B style while adding their own signature flavor. It's upbeat tempo cuts playfully alongside the admittedly harsh lyrics, with chopped up vocals that drift fluidly over a deep bassline, nu disco-tinged beats and plucky guitar riffs courtesy of, who else, but TV on the Radio's Jaleel Bunton. An excellent effort no doubt, though we'd expect nothing less from such a talented lineup. Don't think twice about picking yourself up a copy, and look out for more from both Brendan, and Roofeeo's new project Dreamshow, in the future.
