We first encountered San Francisco-based producer J.Koplowitz, who had previously crafted Balearic goodness as part of electro-pop group Beat Connection, after jamming out to his impressively dynamic funk-inspired Doesn’t Groove Like Me EP released in November of last year. Now the electro wizard has returned with a remix of the Northwest’s own Manatee Commune, giving their downtempo single Brush a total melodic overhaul as he stacks up delicate synth lines and acid bass to get your head nodding. Although Koplowitz holds tight to key drum samples and violin notes from the original, he creates an overwhelming sense of assurance that was missing beforehand, a soundtrack of sorts to ensure the risks we take are worth the final outcome. This by no means denotes a lack of groove, as the title of his previous offering clearly establishes danceability as a high priority. Stream the remix and original below and make sure to keep an eye out for future tracks, as we can only hope they keep flowing!
