Leo Kalyan — Temptation

All signs are suggesting that London resident Leo Kalyan, who dropped the enticingly smoky Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High For This back in November, will soon be a serious contender in the growing ocean of neo-soul enthusiasts alongside artists like SOHN and How to Dress Well. Backed by personal friend and exceptionally talented vocalist/remixer MNEK, Mr. Kalyan has developed a knack for constructing woozy r’n’b landscapes packed full of sex appeal, shown most recently in his aptly titled track Temptation. This time the newcomer flexes his own vocal prominence amidst a glossy guitar backdrop, applying a series of echoing drums and sensual snaps that unfold to support the tale of late night encounters and you guessed it, lustful temptation. We soon become lost in a pseudo-Balaeric haze, where nothing is certain but everything feels right, akin to a humid night in the streets of a foreign city.
