Belanger — Calico

We've featured NYC's Belanger in the past, most notably for his excellent original Take Me Home, a track we admittedly had on repeat for quite awhile. Through a handful of noteworthy remixes and mash-ups we've kept a close eye on him, intrigued by his range as a producer and awaiting the day that another original might come across our ears. Much to our satisfaction that time came just last week. Calico, is a track Belanger tells us he's been working on ever since the release of the aforementioned Take Me Home, and that time spent is immediately apparent upon hitting play. With an array of layers and impressive attention to detail, it plays out as a journey of emotional complexities, bringing forth explorative instincts and a yearning to dive deeper into it's mystery. The presentation feels simple, but the sophistication in it's production is clearly evident, and is easily it's strength. Here's to setting the bar just that much higher. The track isn't out until January 28th, but you can pre-order it here.
