Mereki — Blue Lake (WMNSTUDIES Remix)

Vancouver's WMNSTUDIES have been steadily building an impressive stockpile of tunes, from Too Damn Dope For Me almost a year ago, to more recent work like their remix of BESTiE's Asleep On The Bus and original Make You. Though it's been a short while since we last heard from the Canadian duo, they're back at it today, taking on Blue Lake by talented vocalist Mereki for an official remix. The original, which displays all the elements of a perfectly crafted 90s pop song, has been transformed here — with the graininess sifted out and the chopped up vocals wrapped in breezy, buoyant tropical synths. This is the track that's playing when all your friends are hanging around beachside, the festive mood is in full force, and memorable moments are taking shape.
