The Jam Jar • Curated by Moullinex

Just two more days until the release of Hypersexthe hotly anticipated, third studio album from Portuguese producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Luis Clara Gomes, otherwise known as Moullinex. The artist has had a great year so far in the lead up to the album, which he's calling "a collective love letter to club culture, embracing the universal love of music: no matter where you come from, who you are, and whom you choose to love". More to come on that soon. Today though, we're lucky to have the Lisbon native join us to share a collection of his favorite tracks at the moment, in the form of our latest curated Jam Jar.

Before you fully dive in, don't miss the freshly released, and seriously fantastic, new video for Moullinex's single Carnival as well. It features a longtime friend, DJ, and mainstay of the Discotexas family, Rui Teixeira, working it out on the dancefloor with his younger self – and we really can't get enough.

Now let's get into it. Tune in to Moullinex's selections and some words below, including a few Discotexas all-stars, Moullinex's own take on the always noteworthy Franc Moody, plus much more.

Selections •

Moullinex — Carnival (ft. Shermar)

Months ago this singer from North Carolina got in touch, wanting to work with me. I sent him an instrumental. He had co-written a lot of hits, but 'Carnival' would become the very first track he'd actually sing on and I immediately fell in love with Shermar's voice.

Wild & Free — Paradise

Wild & Free are part of the Discotexas family now, and their Sade - Paradise edit is bliss. Prepare.

Vulfpeck — Back Pocket (Moods Remix)

Moods is on fire - his remix for Vulfpeck is even groovier than the original.

Franc Moody — Super Star Struck (Moullinex Remix)

I loved the original, so remixing it was really breezy. There's many tracks I love but can't fit into my DJ sets, and thus having a tasteful, DJ friendly remix of a really good pop song is MANDATORY.

Felipe Gordon — Mosiaco Andino

Felipe Gordon is a Colombian producer, and one of my favorites. He's on fire, putting out tracks all the time. We have a new EP by him coming out on Forbidden Cuts.

Moullinex — Love Love Love (Les Loups Remix)

Les Loups took my original and gave it a broken, lofi house spin that works charms on dancefloors across the world.

GPU Panic — Melting Haze

GPU Panic is one of the many alter egos of Gui Tomé Ribeiro, who also plays guitar in my live band and did much of the guitars in Hypersex. In this track he perfectly combines ethereal vocals with dark, ambient techno landscapes and the result is irresistible.

Christian Löffler — Lid (Zimmer Remix)

Zimmer's remix for Christian Löffler is a treaty on smoothness. Love it.

COEO — In Motion

COEO and Toy Tonics have been putting out excellent releases since their start. This is just an example.

Xinobi — Far Away Place

Far Away Place is merely one of Xinobi's masterpieces. The beautiful vocal of Margarida Falcão (of Vaarwell and Golden Slumbers) perfectly matches the underwater tones of the instrumental.
