SOFI TUKKER — Drinkee

sofi-tukker-drinkee We've been on a serious world music kick lately, so when this debut single from New York duo SOFI TUKKER came across our radar last week, we were sold after the first few notes. Drinkee is a track thats myriad influences are immediately apparent, with Tucker Halpern's background as a DJ and Sophie Hawley–Weld's international upbringing joining forces brilliantly. It combines lyrics in Portuguese adapted direct from Brazilian poet Chacal, sung over an array of twangy guitar, bubbling bass and bongo drums all blended to form a uniquely refreshing sound. It's a bit nonsensical (unless of course you understand Portuguese) but a whole lot of fun, and has got us pretty excited about the future of this project. We're sure you'll feel the same after one listen.

Drinkee is out officially now via The Knocks' HeavyRoc Music. Don't hesitate to pick it up and enjoy.
