THE JAM JAR 122 | Curated By Rainer + Grimm

JJ-RG-Square Another edition of the Jam Jar has arrived and it's a special one. We've got Toronto's Rainer + Grimm taking over selection duties this week, known for their choice remixes and impressively consistent production, and they're bringing the summertime heat. With names both known and unknown, including Golden Features, Kideko, Slaptop and more, you can definitely expect to find some gems in here. But enough from us now, we'll let the guys take over. Tune in below and enjoy!

Prefer to listen to the whole set in a playlist? Do that here.

We should also mention R+G are about to kick off an August tour of North America, and we'd highly suggest you take part. Check dates for that here.

As we prepare to embark on our first U.S. tour we put together this package of tasty treats - some are a good indication of what our sets will sound like and some are just good jams that have feeling some type of way at the moment. — R+G

SELECTIONS •

Paris Wells — Overbite

A relatively new artist out of Melbourne, I wasn’t actually able to find out too much about this artist but you can be sure this will find it’s way into our poolside sets!

Kideko — The Jam

New take on a classic dance vocal. The bass in this song bangs nice and hard, this will definitely find it’s way into our sets this tour. And word on the streets is there are some heavy hitters remixing it.

Craig David — Fill Me In (Sterling Silver & Mark Maxwell Bootleg)

Following suit with the previous track; a new take on a classic. Taking the classic RnB track and flipping it into the perfect soundtrack for all pool parties.

Loick — Number One

Produced by Rymez & Sillkey, this track has a little bit of everything: strong vocals backed by the kind of instrumental you get stuck in your head with some sweet vocal chops.

[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/199695619" params="auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]

Shaun Frank & Vanrip — All About

Had to throw some love to our fellow Torontonian Shaun Frank. This dude cranks out hits one after the other. All About is no exception. This one has made it’s way into a number of sets and will continue to do so for a while to come I’m sure.

Fetty Wap — Trap Queen (Slaptop Remix)

It’s hard to get away from this song and all the remixes that come with it, but it’s for good reason. It’s just so good. period.

Golden Features — No One Ft. Thelma Plum

A little darker than most of the songs so far, this track from Australian Golden Features is one quality written song. With somber verses to let the lyrics stand out and a really groovy drop, it’s got a bit of everything in it.

[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/208344664" params="auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]

Digital Farm Animals — True

This song is a little older but it’s been included in this package simply because it’s a great track and not enough people have heard it. More people need to hear this. Take a listen, you’ll hear why.

[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/199266260" params="auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]

FKJ ft. Tom Bailey — Drops

I found this track while looking for Tom Bailey tracks. A sweat jazzy number with some west coast G-funk/ Dr. Dre riffs throughout the track. Nothing we would ever play, just so much fun all around.

Gallant — Weight In Gold

This track unfortunately would never make it into our sets but it’s just such a pleasure to listen to this talented vocalist out of Los Angeles. The branding he uses is also really cool. I’m sure we’ll all be hearing more about this kid in the near future.
