Everyone's favorite retro–vibe duo, Futurecop!, is back with the release of their third album Fairy Tales, bringing with it, if possible, an even grander atmosphere to their work. Incorporating thematic displays which we've come to know them by, particularly 80s / 90s nostalgia and uplifting dreamscapes, the album as a whole gives us an exploratory, ambient look on the world around us. Together with Luke Thompson of Canopy Film, Futurecop! have brought this cinematic story to life, creating a set of six music videos for as many tracks.
Last week they released one such video, for Dictionary, perhaps the most upbeat jam on the album and the biggest low–key hit of them all in our opinion. Today we're bringing you the first remix of the track, from Greek producer iamMANOLIS. The original comes as an ever–changing mix of 70s inspired hooks and dreamy synth work, and iamMANOLIS brings out these elements brilliantly while enhancing the piece as a whole. A pulsing build slips seamlessly into funky guitar breaks and fluid electronic layers around LA vocalist Future Holotape's melodic vocals, adding a bright dance edge to the track's original form. If this one doesn't have you quickly up and dancing, letting loose your childhood spirit, we're not sure what will.
