SYV | MYA We caught on to young UK upstarts SYV a little over a year ago, just after they began the project, through their excellent single Looking For Love. Past a blissful rework of Laura Mvula's She, their 'Magic Tape 45' featured heater Holding Back, and an ace take on Blonde's seminal Higher Ground they've firmly planted themselves as a fresh talent to be reckoned with. Now they look to continue this impressive streak with a brand new original, MYA, that sees them expertly employ their signature house strides once again. A soulful R&B sample combines with a series of peaks and drops, made up of shuffling hi-hats and buoyant bass lines, having no trouble carrying us swiftly onto the dance floor through it's crisp UK Garage vibes. With this one already having been picked up by various tastemakers including BBC Radio 1, and The Magician once again in his latest Magic Tape installment, we think it's safe to say this is only the beginning of what we can hope to hear from the duo.
