Pat Lok — Could Be Mine (Wantigga & Chores Remixes)

Could Be Mine | Remixes Five months on and Pat Lok's Could Be Mine, featuring vocals from the golden voiced Patrick Baker, is still in heavy rotation for us. Now it's looking like that's going to continue with the release of the single's remix pack today, which includes reworks from two artists we happen to have been keeping a keen eye on lately, Dutch producer Wantigga and New Zealand duo Chores.

We last featured Wantigga for his bass-heavy, RnB breakdown of Rihanna's Pour It Up, and we see the producer employ some of those same elements here while pushing it to a new space. A fusion of crisp percussion, lanky synths and driving bassline encompass Patrick Baker's vocals to perfection, creating a clever push-pull with the energy of the track. Chores on the other hand chose a different approach, lulling us into a steady build with lush layers of beats and a cut-and-paste of the original vocal work. When the whole thing drops their, punchy synths and bass kicks will have you promptly losing your shit.

Take your pick, but we're feeling both of these versatile flips have got staying power, and are sure to keep things heated over the coming months. You can grab the set, plus another remix by Lithuania's Red Milk, via the Cloud now.
