Figgy — The Truth
A couple of days ago the NYC homie Figgy dished out a brand new single via Thump by the name of The Truth, which we thought you should be well aware of before jumping into the weekend. Being one of the producers we've been most consistently impressed with over the past year, we expected a top quality track, but this one blew us away. It takes a slight divergence from past tunes such as the dreamy Hold Me, recently released on Kastle's Symbols label, or his excellent remixes of Lykke Li and Phantogram, and reveals the subtleties of his production. The track plays out as a bittersweet confession, it's sparse lyrics on loop telling a story fuller than words alone can convey, something he's got a clear affinity for. Though it's full of moody feels without a doubt, that signature sense of intrigue Figgy seamlessly weaves into his tracks is still there, and he keeps things light with a smooth layering of house beats. One thing's for sure, The Truth hits the top of our list with ease. You can grab yourself a free copy via Figgy's Facebook page here.
