NYC duo The Chainsmokers remind us why we fell in love with them on their new remix of Jose Gonzalez' Step Out. Displaying their affinity for a slight but effective altering of indie dance-leaning tracks, Alex and Drew have taken the Walter Mitty theme song and elevated it's already existing ethereal atmosphere. A subtle backbeat draws us steadily through the build until the chorus takes over, leaving an anthemic sense of achievement and appreciation. If you've seen the film and it's breathtaking landscapes, you'll understand how well-done this remix really is. Taking yet another a step towards shaking the SELFIE haters off, the guys show us where their talents truly lie. This one couldn't be a more perfect weekend kicker.
And if you happen to be local to SF, they'll be taking the stage at Ruby Skye this evening for what'll undoubtedly be a great show, just before heading up north to play Paradiso festival tomorrow.
