MERCER — Turn It Up (TCHAMI Remix)
We named Paris' Tchami one of 2014's Artists to Watch a couple of weeks back, and he's come out of the gate living up to that reputation. Earlier this week we saw the release of his remix for fellow Parisian producer Mercer's Turn It Up, a bracing big room track in it's own right. Tchami imprints the signature style of house he's become known for on his mix, removing the unhinged energy of the original and pulling in a pliable bassline, brisk hi-hats and deep wonky beats. Opting for a more contained take, he's created a tune that hits as hard as any, yet with the ideal amount of refinement to cleverly offset a leading line such as 'just turn the fuck up'. It's out now on Beatport via Spinnin' Records SPRS, so get your hands on a copy. And make sure to keep you ears open for Mercer's massive collaboration with DJ Snake, Lunatic, out March 7th.
