Flight Facilities Announce Debut Album & Tour
We're not typically ones to post industry newsflashes, but when one of our all-time favorite artists makes a big announcement, we make an exception. Australian duo Flight Facilities, who I think we can safely say are without question everyone's favorite aeronauts, announced today that they'll be releasing their debut album, Down To Earth, in just a couple of short months on October 27th. In addition they'll be embarking on a world tour including U.S. dates in LA and NYC. Yeah, we cried tears of joy when we first heard too.
This is important news for a number of reasons. First, because they're responsible for such beloved modern classics as Crave You, Foreign Language, With You, Clair De Lune, Stand Still and the list goes on — a few of which will welcomely appear on the album. Next because this means brand new music from the duo, featuring all-star collaborators like Emma Louise, Bishop Nehru, Reggie Watts, and Owl Eyes. And lastly because of the exceptionally crafted video teaser they've released in anticipation that's got us feeling ten types of stoked, plus the inevitable additional goods they've got in store.
One of the things we've always admired about Facilities Facilities is the way they've embraced building a brand, and more importantly a story, around themselves — which is something we ourselves believe to be an integral part of any high quality output. And seeing as they took the time to put together such an amazing teaser, just imagine what the full album is going to bring.
