Pat Lok — Move Slow (WMNSTUDIES & SirOJ Remixes)

Last month Vancouver's Pat Lok released Move Slow, the seductive single featuring vocalist Kaeyae Alo, to wide and welcome reception. Today, we're seeing the release of the track's accompanying remix EP, featuring choice interpretations coming from a variety of producers including Jeffery Jerusalem, GANZ, SirOJ, and WMNSTUDIES. While each has it's merits, the latter half of the set in particular caught our ears, with both parties bringing admittedly contrasting and completely distinctive takes on the tune. Where Amsterdam's SirOJ uplifts the vocals and replaces the original's quirky movements with a steadily bouncing backbeat that'll have you doing a full body bob on the dancefloor, PL's Vancouver counterparts WMNSTUDIES take a more focused approach, adding a line of jazzy, garage-tinged chords to carry us through with precision. As a pair, one sets the mood and the other turns up the heat, a clear sign of capable hands all around.
