I remember the first time I heard The Golden Boy’s remix of Whitney Houston’s ‘Love Will Save the Day’...I was really inspired by [it] as a producer

The LAMP family returns today with the release of the second volume in their SPECTRUMS compilations. The project gives artists the chance to take a new approach to some of their favorite tracks, featuring music from Birdee, Adam Johan & Trevor Oslo, Le Monkey and more. This afternoon we've got the pleasure of bringing you a special one from the set, label boss MR PUZL's sizzling new tune, Real.

Choosing to dust off Sylvester's 1978 disco burner You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), MR PUZL had his work cut out, but there's no doubt his take does the bastion of a song, and that expressive falsetto, proper justice. Stripping it down to just the vocals, he's crafted a brand new track around them, letting classic keys, percussion and escalating synths keep things aimed squarely on the dancefloor from start to finish.

"I remember the first time I heard The Golden Boy's remix of Whitney Houston's 'Love Will Save the Day'. It had all the right ingredients to be a dancefloor hit. It paid a lot homage to the original while giving it this groovy modern update, which I was really inspired by as a producer. I came across Sylvester's tune while searching for some classic sounding vocal lead for an idea I was just starting to work on. The chorus really resonated with me and I ended up scrapping the original idea and writing an entire new song around it.” – MR PUZL

Loving this interpretation of an all-time disco favorite. Don't miss Real below, and catch a stream + download of the full SPECTRUMS VOL. 2 compilation here.
