I saw James Blake perform in a cathedral in LA...inspiration struck

Start your Friday feeling all of the feelings, with a standout take on Leo Islo's fantastic single Lush Life, remixed anew by his LAMP label–mate Damon Steele. Islo has an exceptional ability to create emotive micro–environments within his songs, something which makes the original of this so successful, and it's a testament to Steele's own talent to see how he's adapted the track for his own here. He's built a balmy atmosphere filled with sumptuous chords drifting around a steady bassline, blending enticing notes with gossamer projections for a richly textured composition that spans the spectrum of enjoyment.

"When I was given the opportunity to do a remix for my label-mate Leo Islo I was honored. Unfortunately, I was having a bad case of writers block when I started work on the project. Two weeks later I had nothing. That night I saw James Blake perform in a cathedral in LA. The show was so great that I couldn’t sleep thinking about it. Finally inspiration struck and I hopped out of bed at 3am to write the moody, Blake-inspired chords and bass that can be heard in the track's verses today."  – Damon Steele

The remix is out now via our friends at PUZL Records. Stream and pick up a copy here. And if you haven't caught the original yet, be sure to give that a listen over on Spotify as well.
