The Jam Jar • Curated by Fhin

On the heels of his standout second EP, around.away, Parisian producer Fhin has taken some time to sit down and share a handful of his favorite tracks at the moment with us, for the latest curated Jam Jar. The wunderkind has kept busy over the past year through originals releases and collaborations with the likes of Zimmer and Kraak & Smaak – and this newest work is really something remarkable, coming as an immersive exploration into the emotive melodies and songwriting the blossoming artist is becoming known for. Check out a few of the tracks we're loving from his EP, followed by Fhin's own playlist selections, below.

Rival Consoles - Looming

I was struck by all the electric atmosphere in that track, a genius mix of heavy continuous bass and gorgeous synths on top of it.

Mac Demarco - One More Love Song

I discovered that song during his gig in Paris. I'm in love with the chord progression and the bassline that follows. Mac is mesmerizing !

The National - Day I Die

I'm a huge fan of that band since "Bloodbuzz Ohio", I remember that I was hypnotized watching the video at my parents when I was like 16 years old. I love their new album, and "Day I Die" has something special.

Embee - Moons

A lovely square drum pattern with an unstable bass synth. I like how it breaks then grows and grows till it just stops, and goes again like before, not more, not less.

alt-J - Deadcrush (Damian Lazarus Re-Shape)

The subs sound like a terrifying beast ramping on the ground. That's fun how Joe Newman sounds like a screaming witch in that one haha. Perfect for Halloween !

Kiasmos - Blurred (Bonobo Remix)

I've been listening to Bonobo since 10 years and I love his work. This remix is perfect for anytime, going to sleep, party, driving at night...I'm crazy about the original too.

Kid Francescoli - Moon

One of those song that sound like an eternal loop that you want to play again and again, and again.

Arty - Last Kiss

The simple rolling drums and the piano loop are addictive in that one. Like Kid Francescoli's one, effective loop !

The XX - On Hold (Jamie xx Remix)

Jamie is a genius, I find it inspiring how he breaks the border beetween genres and how he is able to build awesome tracks in really different styles/moods.

HOMESHAKE - NANKHATAI

Big surprise when I first played that track. But I won't spoil it, I want you to be as surprised as me if you didn't had the chance to hear it before !
