THE JAM JAR – 007

And we’re back! We’ve been on a slight hiatus as we ventured down to the desert for an absolutely epic week at Coachella, but we made it back in one piece and just in time to deliver some hot new selections for our seventh installment of The Jam Jar. We’re going deep, disco, and funky this week – capturing those moments of pure bliss on the dancefloor and bringing you a bevy of party-worthy house vibes. This round kicks off with some amazing work on The Knocks & St. Lucia’s new tune Modern Hearts from Jam Jar regular Goldroom, and the beats continue with more new ones from Kidnap Kid, Louis La Roche, Blake! and more. Have a listen and download them all for free below!
Ra Ra Riot – When I Dream (Xristo Remix)

Xristo is one of those producers that turns out fire so consistently it’s almost hard to keep up with. So we thought we’d pull together a small round-up of the quality releases we’re talking about, and set you up with some big tunes for the weekend. His most recent work on Ra Ra Riot’s When I Dream is particularly impressive in that he shakes up his usual sound with a kind of fusion between deep house and progressive. This was a genius move on his part as it aligns perfectly with Ra Ra Riot’s elegantly constructed sound, keeping the mellow vibe intact, yet making it completely danceable at the same time. Taylor Swift – I Knew You Were Trouble (PRFFTT & Svyable Bootleg)

Boston-based producers PRFFTT & Svyable, whom we previously featured for their phenomenal rework of Ellie Goulding’s Hanging On cover, are now back with another serious gem to add to the collection. This time around the duo have taken Taylor Swift’s latest hit single and successfully transformed it into a bass-filled bootleg of the most addictive varieties – smoothly integrating the original vocals with plenty of their own tasteful wobbles. The final results strikes an excellent balance between being both sufficiently hard-hitting and effortlessly melodic all at once. Enjoy!
Top 5 Most Popular Downloads – September 2012

Hope everybody is having a fantastic start to the new month! In order to keep that momentum going into the last quarter of the year, here are the Top 5 most downloaded tracks on the site from September 2012. As per usual, all of these are top-quality tunes that should not be missed under any circumstances. Definitely make sure to grab yourself a copy of each if you haven’t done so already. Boom!
Ellie Goulding – Anything Could Happen (Henry Fong Remix)

Henry Fong first caught our eye earlier this year with a seriously electric take on Miike Snow’s Devil’s Work and hasn’t disappointed ever since – following up with a quality mashup collaboration and a ‘bigroombahcore’ remix of Calvin Harris that was quickly included into our top summer picks. The Orlando native is now back with another top notch effort to add to the collection – this time in the form of a progressive house rework of Ellie Goulding’s latest hit single Anything Could Happen. The final result is a highly uplifting track loaded with massive sun-filled synths and just the right amount of Ellie’s always-on-point vocals, striking a nice balance between energizing and reminiscent all at the same time. Quality!

Alex Gaudino feat. Taboo – Don’t Wanna Dance (Tom Swoon Remix)

Tom Swoon, formerly known as Pixel Cheese, is a young Polish talent who has quickly been making quite a name for himself in the scene with a series of exceptional remixes and bootlegs. His latest creation is a progressive house rework of Alex Gaudino’s original Don’t Wanna Dance, which he turned into an undeniably energetic bomb complete with catchy synths and well-integrated chopped up vocals. It is definitely a party-ready tune that you can’t help but move to – contrary to what its title might suggest. Make sure to grab yourself a copy of this free release and stay tuned for more upcoming goodies from Tom Swoon down the road. Enjoy!

Ellie Goulding – Hanging On (Svyable + PRFFTT Bootleg)

Ellie Goudling’s ethereal cover of Active Child’s hauntingly beautiful track Hanging On has been making its was swiftly across the blogosphere, and naturally a myriad of remixes have been following in it’s wake. We’ve had many hit our ears at this point, but none as incredibly well done as Svyable and PRFFTT’s take on the track. This remix is a complex combination of one part emotional waves washing over you, and one part summer anthem. These guys did a phenomenal job of containing both Ellie and Active Child’s original allure and aligning themselves perfectly with it in order to take the track into a different realm. Not to mention it’s already drawn attention from the songstress herself. Big things coming for both Svyable and PRFFTT in the future.

Ellie Goulding – Lights (Feenixpawl Bootleg)

Feenixpawl is absolutely killing it right now. The Melbourne duo had their hand in one of the most massive tracks of the past year with In My Mind, as well as a number of huge remixes for the likes of Adrian Lux, Jurgen Vries, and Kaskade. But this latest bootleg of Ellie Goulding’s ethereal track Lights is out of this world. You can’t go wrong with Ellie Goulding’s voice and monster melodies, and the two are mixed to perfection here. These guys are about to have an enormous year, sure to be one of the fastest rising stars of 2012. Looks like the 4th of July celebration tomorrow, and the rest of the Summer for that matter, just got a little bit better with this instant anthem.

Jakwob – Electrify ft. Jetta (Jakwob VIP Mix)

We’ve had a long time love for Jakwob here at Caveman Sound. He’s been creating his bass laced, pop infused, infectious tracks for a few years now and is the absolute master of the soft build-up, heavy drop combo. His dubby wobbles always sound slightly different and just a bit unexpected from what you think you’ll hear, somehow putting your mind at ease and pumping you up all at once. He’s just released his new track Electrify ft. Jetta along with a few remixes, which are all phenomenal. He changes up his own original making something brand new and heavy as ever on this VIP remix. Grab it below. And if you’re digging his sound be sure to show Jakwob some support.

Skrillex – New Tracks

We’ll keep this short as it really needs no introduction. These are some new tracks from Skrillex that will appear on his upcoming EP, Bangarang, and they are massive as usual. Summit is a bit on the mellow side, which is a nice change from his usual sound. No matter how much people may hate on Skirllex, there’s no denying his talent. Get ‘em while they’re hot! Deadmau5 – Strobe (Special Features Remix)

Special Features is a young London-based producer who has recently been coming out with some ridiculous remixes (check out his bootleg of Avicii & Guetta – Sunshine). This time he took on a very risky and difficult task of trying to mess with the perfection that is Deadmau5 – Strobe. The final result, however, is extremely impressive. This remix gets a hard-hitting electro infusion while maintaining that sensual euphoric feel of the epic 2009 original. It is a definite banger and even the most loyal mau5-heads are sure to truly appreciate this particular take on the classic. Enjoy!
BONUS: Here is another necessary treat while we are on the subject. It is an awesome Kap Slap mash-up of Strobe with Ellie Goulding – Lights. Amazing vocals over a perfect beat. Extremely addictive. Get it here.
