In addition to the announcement of their upcoming show, the guys have just released a brand new remix of ASTR’s Operate that has got us (if possible) even more pumped for this Friday. The feel of the original is still alive but they’ve added an engaging and uplifting melody that gives it a very emotionally charged vibe. Pick up the free download via their Facebook page below!

Marina & The Diamonds — How To Be A Heartbreaker (Mr. Larsson Remix)

Monday came a little too soon for us this week, so let’s start the day off with some energy to get things moving. The always on point Cologne-based newcomer Mr. Larsson has just released a brand new remix taking on Marina & The Diamonds once again, this time transforming her track How To Be A Heartbreaker. With his success at remixing Primadonna last year, all bets were that he couldn’t go wrong with the combination a second time. He’s certainly done what he does best here, taking pop vocals and working them to his benefit around an energetic electro beat. The result is an infectious indie electro tune with enough good vibes to carry you through the week on a good note. Be sure to pick up the download below!
TJH87 — Deadlock (Robotaki Remix)

Earlier this week Mixmag let loose this exclusive track and we’ve been yearning for the weekend to begin ever since. The Finnish electro duo TJH87 got a remix rinse from none other than Robotaki and the result is absolutely incredible. Their styles are an ideal compliment to each other, mixing TJH87′s slightly funk-infused heavy electro with Robotaki’s own compressed basslines and French house leanings. Here those two collide perfectly, creating a tune with an enormous amount of flavor and serious dancefloor vibes, making it a prime choice to kick the weekend off with. The free download can be scooped up via Mixmag below!
Daughter — Youth (Zebra Safari Remix)

Every time we get a new track from Stockholm duo Zebra Safari, we pretty much know before even listening that it’s going to be a great tune. This trend certainly holds true on their newest remix of Daughter’s Youth. It isn’t the first time they’ve taken on the London band, previously we’ve seen them successfully transform their track Love, and now they’ve decided to try their at it hand once again. By now they’ve proven themselves to be masters of subtly altering indie jams into catchy and crisp electro pop tunes. There has been numerous takes on this track floating around already, but Zebra Safari are able to set themselves apart with a brief yet effective chopped-up mix. Pick up the download below!
Catch their brilliant remix of Banks’ Warm Water as well.

THE JAM JAR — 015

Our fifteenth installment of The Jam Jar has arrived ladies and gents, and in this week’s list we’ve got heat coming from all directions, with equal parts heavy-hitting dance tunes and more relaxed daytime jams. Japan’s Boys Get Hurt gives us a grand remix of Reflex’s Together via Continental Records, French duo Rise & Fool serve up their killer take on Bastille, and our favorite fun-in-the-sun producers Poolside are back with a brand new single off their upcoming album — plus a whole lot more. These ones will surely have you jamming straight through to the weekend, so without further adieu, dig in!
Cambio Sun — Intuition (Vindata Remix)

It has been a little while since we’ve heard from LA’s Vindata. The duo are responsible for some of our more loved remixes over the past year, with their genre–bending sound taking over tracks from Wildcat! Wildcat!, Little Dragon, Toro y Moi, and more. Now they’re back with a new one and have brought a heap of summertime vibes with it. Intuition, a new track from Sydney’s Cambio Sun, gets an inventive spin with a laid back vibe, chopped up vocals, and plenty of bass – making it a fairly versatile tune all around. Be sure you grab a copy to add to your summer collection!
Check out the really amazing original version as well.

Night Drive — Drones (Bit Funk Remix)

You can never go wrong with a little Bit Funk bliss to get your Friday going, and lucky for us he’s back with a great new remix of Night Drive’s Drones. The electro-pop track from the duo made up of Rodney Connell and Brandon Duhon, who were frontmen of MoTel Aviv and Glasnost respectively, gets a smooth glaze from the Brooklyn-based funk aficionado. As we know well by now, he never misses a step and this is no exception, equipped with a crisp, bouncy beat and handclaps that will have you playing this on loop and dancing all weekend. The Knocks ft. St Lucia — Modern Hearts (Dave Edwards Remix)

After an extremely successful previous mix of The Knocks The Feeling, Brooklyn’s Dave Edwards takes on the duo once again with this killer new remix of Modern Hearts featuring St. Lucia. In his usual fashion, the track has been manipulated to perfection and we’re given a feel-good anthem that’s equal parts indie dance, nu disco, and electro house. He’s effectively captured all the sounds and feelings of summer in the city in one amazing tune, creating something that we’ll definitely be thoroughly enjoying over the next few months. The Swiss — Connect

Australian disco dudes The Swiss are back and on the cusp of releasing their anticipated new Elouisa EP, out June 17th via Kitsuné. To hold us over the label has given us a new track, Connect, as a free download. It’s an energizing, glitzy disco tune with moments of what sounds like ELO inspired riffs, especially during the piano break at 1:55. The duo’s new EP will feature two original tracks, Elouisa and Peach Pit, as well as two brilliant remixes of the title track from Late Nite Tuff Guy and Villa. As it doesn’t appear on the EP itself, Connect just seems to be a bonus gift to add to the hype. There’s no listening stream for us to provide you quite yet, but we can tell you we’ve heard the EP in full and it is glorious. For now, you can grab Connect exclusively through Mixmag below.
Lemâitre — Continuum (WAEK Remix)

We’ve got just the thing for you today to start your week off with a bang. French trio WAEK has put together a brilliant official remix of Lemâitre’s track Continuum, off their EP Relativity 3, that packs quite a solid punch. They’ve taken the already incredible original and injected it with their big French electro sound, built on powerful synths and funky, crushing buildups, while still keeping the overall vibe aligned. The two artist’s styles comes together amazing well here, making for a track pumped full of energy and an eclectic fusion of sounds. You can pick up the tune for free below!

Philly’s Dylan Sieh aka Tours never ceases to give us just what we’re looking for. He provides the ideal soundtrack to Sunday with his chilled out new tune Above Us. The track does a perfect job of capturing that feeling of summertime, with it’s sparkling, laid-back style evoking feelings of slowly drifting through a day full of sunshine, a light breeze, and good vibes. It’s featured as part of Jealous Gold’s Gold Vol. 3 alongside a handful of other underground gems you should definitely check out. Be sure to get this one in rotation.

Télépopmusik — Breathe (Gazzo Remix)

Before you get too deep into your weekend, make sure you pick up this fresh remix from New Jersey’s Gazzo, whom we’ve previously featured for his impressive takes on the likes of JJAMZ and Y LUV, and also appeared in our Progressive House Top Picks of 2012 for his remix of the latter. Since, he’s continued to do some outstanding work, most recently releasing an amazing remix of Breathe, the familiar track from French trio Télépopmusik back in 2002. Gazzo’s spin provides a modern soundscape that fuses his smooth progressive style with deeper house elements, taking a current approach on the classic. The relaxed nature of the original has been lessened but only slightly, and the subtleties of the production are still there, with entrancing vocals and a powerful melody that will hook you from the first play. Best of all it’s a free download.
Bonus! Grab his remix of Gentlemen Hall’s Sail Into The Sun while you’re at it.

THE JAM JAR — 013

We’re not sure about you, but we just had a pretty wild long weekend, so we’re definitely in need of some sweet jams to get us through to the next one. Luckily this is just the reason we created The Jam Jar, for those weeks that come Wednesday are already dragging on, and unfortunately only half way done. Lifting up your spirits this time around we’ve got a deep house take on a Seal classic from Bixel Boys, a glittering rendition of Yuksek & Oh Land’s new single by Kasper Bjorke, and a French house twist on Coastal Cities Entropic from Yuksek’s pals Juveniles. We’re really feeling all of the energetic, summetime vibes with this collection, and are sure you will too. As always you can grab each and every one of these gems for free below!
Lilly Wood & The Prick — Middle Of The Night (Yuksek Remix)

Partyfine label-head and French music man Yuksek just put out this amazing remix of fellow French band Lilly Wood & The Prick. He takes their track Middle Of The Night, from the LP The Fight, and works his usual magic on the tune creating what is surely one of our favorite remixes so far this year. This style is the exact reason why we dig his sound so much — bouncing bass hooks, clever and crisp vocals, and a myriad of clips, claps, and percussion layered throughout. While the original is a sweet jam in it’s own right, Yuksek fixes it up to make it ideal for the club. You can pick up the track below!

THE JAM JAR — 012

The Jam Jar, a brand new feature we’ll be rolling out every Wednesday going forward. The concept is pretty straightforward, each week we’ll add a new collection of indie-dance, house, and nu-disco style jams to the jar — the kind of tunes that carry you off into sun-filled daydreams, that are packed full of funky beats and deep basslines, and that most importantly make your day a more enjoyable one.
Happy Wednesday everybody! We hope your week has been grand so far, but if not, it will surely get better after reading this post. It’s our favorite time of the week again, when we get to bring you a handful of tasty new tunes via The Jam Jar. Supplying your midweek bliss this time around we’ve got a spaced out remix of everyone’s favorite R.A.M. track Doin’ It Right, courtesy of Brooklyn’s The Golden Pony, a beautiful take on José González from Munich’s Dinner Date, and some sensual deep vibes by way of LA’s Them Jeans. Snag the whole pack for free below!
Chet Faker – I’m Into You (# Remix)

If you haven’t caught wind of the highly difficult to track # (hashtag) yet, get those ears ready. After a wildly successful first run with their brilliant interpretation of Alt-J’s Breezeblocks, the Aussie trio are at it again, remixing their fellow countryman Chet Faker, who you may know from his feature on Flume’s Left Alone. Their song selection on this one, just like their previous choice with Alt-J, is spot on. Their self-dubbed and unique ‘trapwave’ sound compliments the earthy, soulful drawl that Chet Faker brings to the track impressively well. We’re beginning to see them develop a style that’s subtle and grand all at the same time, not to mention incredibly effective. Pick up the free download over on their Facebook page!

THE JAM JAR – 011

We’re bringing you deep, disco vibes aplenty this week, with a brand new line-up of some of the freshest jams we’ve been bumping as of late. The knights of feel good, French Express, make a dual appearance this time around with an incredible new one from Moon Boots, and a brilliant remix of one of the best tracks of last year, Chris Malinchak’s So Good To Me, courtesy of UK producer EJECA. Up-and-comers Branded James and Dude Skywalker also bring the heat with some great new tunes. Each one of these tracks is a pure gem, so don’t hesitate to get your hands on them all!
Yuksek Presents Partyfine EP #1

Yuksek’s newly minted label Partyfine is already proving to be a formidable source of quality tunes. Of course, this isn’t surprising news considering the enormous talent of the labels founder. We can expect releases to reflect his own diverse taste in music; from disco, electro, indie and club. In the words of Yuksek himself,
“The label is a natural extension of my past years where I have produced for other artists. I met many of Partyfine’s collaborators this way (JD Samson, The Magician, Oh Land, Juveniles etc) and just felt like extending the experience, writing music with them, not just for them”.
With it’s very first EP release yesterday, we’re already getting an initial taste the type of impressively crafted work we can expect from the young, yet experienced label. Each of the two original tracks featured on Partyfine EP #1 are brilliant productions, and the accompanying remixes are also well worthy of note. The lead track is a collaboration between Partyfine’s own Yuksek and the wonderful Brooklyn-based songstress Oh Land, a pairing we’ve seen once before on Yuksek’s remix of her song Son Of A Gun, which is a personal favorite. This second meeting proves to be nothing short of amazing, with dramatic, swooping beats built around really great vocal work. Truth, the next cut off the EP, is a buoyant jam that oozes French house vibes and features vocals provided by French band Juveniles, who’s upcoming debut album Yuksek happens to be producing. You can pick up the full EP over on iTunes now, and can also grab a couple of super cool remixes from Michael Garcon and Sam Tiba for free below!
THE JAM JAR – 010

We hope you’re ready to dance because The Jam Jar is back once again, with our first double digit entry. This week’s collection puts the spotlight on some bright, dreamy, and deep tunes – with new ones from familiar faces to The Jam Jar, Lane 8 and Clancy, an incredible remix from Gigamesh of Crystal Fighters, who’s new album Cave Rave is one of our most anticipated releases of the moment, and though Lifelike’s remix of Get Lucky is the only one we’ve chosen to officially recognize up to now, JackLNDN has done a killer take on it that’s definitely worth hearing. As always they’re free downloads all around, so without further delay, dig in!
Kaskade – Its You Its Me (Shoe Scene Symphony Remix)

If you aren’t aware, Kaskade has been crossing the country on his Its You Its Me Redux tour, a set of nine intimate, deep shows at small venues (the last of which is tonight in San Diego) to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of his debut album of the same name back in 2003. LA’s Shoe Scene Symphony, feeling nostalgic, decided to take the title track for a spin and ended up creating something truly amazing. They’ve really done it justice, mixing in a groovy percussion beat and adding light dashes of progressive melodies, but overall keeping the originals integrity intact. In many cases a classic such as this should stay untouched in our opinion, but considering the guys did such a phenomenal job, this is certainly an exception. Not to mention it’s refreshing to hear their range as producers. Scoop up the free download below, and let’s kick this Friday night off on a good note!
