This Friday one of the most compelling duos we’ve been keeping an eye on so far this year, NYC’s The Chainsmokers, will be making their way to San Francisco to play at Vessel SF. In addition to the announcement of their upcoming show, the guys have just released a brand new remix of ASTR’s Operate that has got us (if possible) even more pumped for this Friday. Following suit with their previous successes, they’ve taken an alluring indie track and tied it to their crisp progressive house sound. Daughter — Youth (Zebra Safari Remix)
Every time we get a new track from Stockholm duo Zebra Safari, we pretty much know before even listening that it’s going to be a great tune. This trend certainly holds true on their newest remix of Daughter’s Youth. It isn’t the first time they’ve taken on the London band, previously we’ve seen them successfully transform their track Love, and now they’ve decided to try their at it hand once again. By now they’ve proven themselves to be masters of subtly altering indie jams into catchy and crisp electro pop tunes. There has been numerous takes on this track floating around already, but Zebra Safari are able to set themselves apart with a brief yet effective chopped-up mix. Pick up the download below!

Our fifteenth installment of The Jam Jar has arrived ladies and gents, and in this week’s list we’ve got heat coming from all directions, with equal parts heavy-hitting dance tunes and more relaxed daytime jams. Japan’s Boys Get Hurt gives us a grand remix of Reflex’s Together via Continental Records, French duo Rise & Fool serve up their killer take on Bastille, and our favorite fun-in-the-sun producers Poolside are back with a brand new single off their upcoming album — plus a whole lot more. Cambio Sun — Intuition (Vindata Remix)
It has been a little while since we’ve heard from LA’s Vindata. The duo are responsible for some of our more loved remixes over the past year, with their genre–bending sound taking over tracks from Wildcat! Wildcat!, Little Dragon, Toro y Moi, and more. Now they’re back with a new one and have brought a heap of summertime vibes with it. Intuition, a new track from Sydney’s Cambio Sun, gets an inventive spin with a laid back vibe, chopped up vocals, and plenty of bass – making it a fairly versatile tune all around. The Knocks ft. St Lucia — Modern Hearts (Dave Edwards Remix)
After an extremely successful previous mix of The Knocks The Feeling, Brooklyn’s Dave Edwards takes on the duo once again with this killer new remix of Modern Hearts featuring St. Lucia. In his usual fashion, the track has been manipulated to perfection and we’re given a feel-good anthem that’s equal parts indie dance, nu disco, and electro house. French trio WAEK has put together a brilliant official remix of Lemâitre’s track Continuum, off their EP Relativity 3, that packs quite a solid punch. They’ve taken the already incredible original and injected it with their big French electro sound, built on powerful synths and funky, crushing buildups, while still keeping the overall vibe aligned. The two artist’s styles comes together amazing well here, making for a track pumped full of energy and an eclectic fusion of sounds. You can pick up the tune for free below!

Phoenix — Trying To Be Cool (Breakbot Remix)
Since Phoenix gave away the stems to Trying To Be Cool, one of the highlight tracks off their latest album Bankrupt!, we’ve seen an abundant amount of remixes pop-up, but none quite like this. This is almost too much cool to handle in one track. The instant classic has now been given a rework by Ed Banger disco dude Breakbot and as we’d expect, the result is pretty damn great. He’s combined the originals guitar with his signature synth-funk sound, making for one hands-down jam. Be sure to scoop up the download below and get this one spinning for the weekend!

We’re not sure about you, but we just had a pretty wild long weekend, so we’re definitely in need of some sweet jams to get us through to the next one. Luckily this is just the reason we created The Jam Jar, for those weeks that come Wednesday are already dragging on, and unfortunately only half way done. Lifting up your spirits this time around we’ve got a deep house take on a Seal classic from Bixel Boys, a glittering rendition of Yuksek & Oh Land’s new single by Kasper Bjorke, and a French house twist on Coastal Cities Entropic from Yuksek’s pals Juveniles. We’re really feeling all of the energetic, summetime vibes with this collection, and are sure you will too. As always you can grab each and every one of these gems for free below!
Lilly Wood & The Prick — Middle Of The Night (Yuksek Remix)
Partyfine label-head and French music man Yuksek just put out this amazing remix of fellow French band Lilly Wood & The Prick. He takes their track Middle Of The Night, from the LP The Fight, and works his usual magic on the tune creating what is surely one of our favorite remixes so far this year. This style is the exact reason why we dig his sound so much — bouncing bass hooks, clever and crisp vocals, and a myriad of clips, claps, and percussion layered throughout. While the original is a sweet jam in it’s own right, Yuksek fixes it up to make it ideal for the club. You can pick up the track below!

The Jam Jar, a brand new feature we’ll be rolling out every Wednesday going forward. Say Lou Lou – Julian (The Chainsmokers Remix)
There are plenty of reasons not to like Mondays, but when it’s a Monday that NYC duo The Chainsmokers decides to release a new track, well, that’s certainly one reason to love it. The guys sent their brand new official remix for the beautiful gypsetting sister duo Say Lou Lou over this morning, describing it as what they feel to be their best song yet, and we have to say we absolutely agree. As big fans of Say Lou Lou’s original work, we have high expectations for any remixes that come out, and this version of their already amazing single Julian is a prime example of one done right, and exactly why we love what The Chainsmokers do so much. Their blending of pop, indie, and progressive sounds on this is flawless, and it evokes that joyous feeling of a warm night out in the summer to perfection. It just came out as part of the Julian Remix EP, and is available as a free download over on The Chainsmokers Facebook page, so go pick it up!

We’re bringing you deep, disco vibes aplenty this week, with a brand new line-up of some of the freshest jams we’ve been bumping as of late. The knights of feel good, French Express, make a dual appearance this time around with an incredible new one from Moon Boots, and a brilliant remix of one of the best tracks of last year, Chris Malinchak’s So Good To Me, courtesy of UK producer EJECA. Up-and-comers Branded James and Dude Skywalker also bring the heat with some great new tunes. Each one of these tracks is a pure gem, so don’t hesitate to get your hands on them all!
Yuksek Presents Partyfine EP #1
Yuksek’s newly minted label Partyfine is already proving to be a formidable source of quality tunes. Of course, this isn’t surprising news considering the enormous talent of the labels founder. We can expect releases to reflect his own diverse taste in music; from disco, electro, indie and club. In the words of Yuksek himself,
“The label is a natural extension of my past years where I have produced for other artists. I met many of Partyfine’s collaborators this way (JD Samson, The Magician, Oh Land, Juveniles etc) and just felt like extending the experience, writing music with them, not just for them”.
With it’s very first EP release yesterday, we’re already getting an initial taste the type of impressively crafted work we can expect from the young, yet experienced label. Each of the two original tracks featured on Partyfine EP #1 are brilliant productions, and the accompanying remixes are also well worthy of note. The lead track is a collaboration between Partyfine’s own Yuksek and the wonderful Brooklyn-based songstress Oh Land, a pairing we’ve seen once before on Yuksek’s remix of her song Son Of A Gun, which is a personal favorite. This second meeting proves to be nothing short of amazing, with dramatic, swooping beats built around really great vocal work. Truth, the next cut off the EP, is a buoyant jam that oozes French house vibes and features vocals provided by French band Juveniles, who’s upcoming debut album Yuksek happens to be producing. This week’s collection puts the spotlight on some bright, dreamy, and deep tunes – with new ones from familiar faces to The Jam Jar, Lane 8 and Clancy, an incredible remix from Gigamesh of Crystal Fighters, who’s new album Cave Rave is one of our most anticipated releases of the moment, and though Lifelike’s remix of Get Lucky is the only one we’ve chosen to officially recognize up to now, JackLNDN has done a killer take on it that’s definitely worth hearing. Steel Train – You Are Dangerous (RAC Mix)
You may or may not be aware, but RAC has put out a handful of new gems recently. Capital Cities, Bastille, Yacht, and Phoenix are all on the list of fresh remixes, in addition to this buoyant rework of Steel Train. Our affinity for a RAC and Steel Train team-up goes back a ways, June 5th 2010 to be exact, when RAC uploaded a truly brilliant remix of Steel Train’s Turnpike Ghost covered by the wonderful duo of Tegan & Sara. Since that sweet melody entered our ears we were hooked, and immediately wanted more. At long last we’ve had our wishes granted with this new digital mix (it was previously released as vinyl only in April 2011) of You Are Dangerous, and though we’re missing the pop-infused bliss of Tegan & Sara, we’re treated to a tune every bit as enjoyable. The only downside is it’s brevity, clocking in at just past 3 minutes in length, but I guess that’s what they made the repeat button for. Grab the free download below!
Phoenix – Trying To Be Cool (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Almost a month has gone by since we last heard from NYC’s energizing duo The Chainsmokers, much too long in our opinion. But thankfully, we opened our inbox this morning to find a brand new remix from the guys, and we couldn’t be more stoked about it. We’ve been jamming to Phoenix’s new track Trying To Be Cool ever since it first graced our ears, so our excitement seeing the always-on-point duo get their hands on it is immense. As usual they have come to impress, and once again blown us away with a supremely executed take on the tune. Their signature style of taking indie dance tracks and adding just the right dose of progressive flavor works to perfection here, and there couldn’t be a better band for them to have taken on than Phoenix. The outcome is fantastically (pardon us) cool, updated for the clubs, poolsides, and rooftops alike. In their ever generous spirit, this one’s also a free download simply by ‘liking’ their Facebook page, so get on it! And keep your ears peeled, we have it on good word that we’ll be hearing a lot more from them in the near future.

Keljet feat. X Ambassadors – Love Of A Life (Ride The Universe Remix)
It’s been a hot minute since we’ve had some fresh material from LA/Berlin disco dudes Ride The Universe, but we’re happy to say they’re back in action with a shiny new remix. They have just reworked one of our favorite tracks of late, Keljet and X Ambassadors Love Of A Life, released a couple of days ago via On The Fruit Records as part of the Mini EP (which also includes the Mighty Mouse remix we featured in THE JAM JAR 006). We couldn’t be more glad they got their hands on this one, having molded the original into a funktastic laid-back ride, that’s chalk full of blissful summertime vibes and bubbling robotic vocal clips.
